What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that helps restore, maintain and make the most of a patient’s mobility, function and well-being. They focus on both prevention and rehabilitation by assessing, diagnosing, and working through problems caused by injury, disease or disability. They use multiple methods such as exercise and patient education, hands-on therapy, heat & ice, electrotherapy and advice to get you involved in your own recovery.

What is involved?

An assessment is completed by the physiotherapist, and a customized program is then designed with you based on your diagnosis and treatment goals. Depending on the severity of your condition, you may be given exercises to strengthen at home with the occasional follow up visit, or be scheduled to receive in-clinic treatments to supervise your progression and individual needs.

Who will benefit from Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy can be helpful for people of all ages with a wide range of health conditions. It is something to consider if you have an injury, or chronic pain that affects how you function everyday.
